UX & Product Consultant - Freelance
Tight budgets, small teams, skill gaps and limited time are just a few of the challenges Startups or small organisations often face.
In this session, Emily will provide tips and tools which could help small teams or individuals start working towards successful UX outcomes without the need for lots of cash, hiring new team members or investing in lots of kit. She will introduce the key principles of ‘Lean UX’ and share learnings from her experiences of working with startups and on low budget projects.
Emily is a UX and Product Management Consultant specialising in healthcare, sustainability and behaviour change.
Having worked with startups, SMEs, large commercial services, Emily has been exposed to a wide range of business strategies, users and stakeholders requirements. She has learned the benefits of agile working and prioritises a lean approach where suitable. She strongly values thorough research to discover real needs, testing ideas, iterating quickly, continuous validation and constant learning.
Emily is a Google Launchpad UX and Product Mentor. With the programme she has participated in events and Design Sprints in London, Milan, Helsinki and Johannesburg. She has been on judging panels for hackathons and given talks or run workshops at various events including on the Google Stage at Slush in Helsinki, UX Panel at GIANT Health Event and Industry Insights: Designing for Health and Wellbeing at the Design Museum, London.
Emily comes from a background in Graphic Communication, has an MSc in Human Centred Systems / Human Computer Interaction Design from City University London and is currently still London based, consulting on a range healthcare-related projects.
