Welcome to HCID Open Day 2023, a UX conference run by the Centre for Human Computer Interaction Design (HCID) at City, University of London. This year’s theme is ‘Design Better‘ and will focus on designers taking responsibility for the impact of what they are designing, countering deceptive UX patterns, designing for inclusion and highlighting a perceived downward slide in quality of Interaction Design present in modern digital products. It will also offer an opportunity for speakers to share examples of best practices.
This builds on our previous theme of ‘Design for Good’. The Centre for Human Computer Interaction Design (HCID) have chosen to revisit this area as we believe it reflects the kind of work we are currently doing, and that all designers have the responsibility to Design Better.
This year we are charging professionals a non-refundable fee of £10 per ticket to contribute towards catering costs. Students and new career entrants will still be able to book free tickets.
