Communications Officer - The Clewer Initiative
The Safe Car Wash app launched in June 2018 as a new way of mobilising the Church of England’s grassroots network to bring about change. It aims to create a database of intelligence on hand car washes, a high risk industry for modern slavery, which has grown hugely in the past decade. Hear more about how faith groups, law enforcement and statutory agencies are harnessing technology to end modern slavery in the UK.
As the Communications Officer for The Clewer Initiative, Caroline Barnard helps the Church of England respond to modern slavery both locally and nationally. This varied role includes creating resources, delivering training, and sharing stories of the impact that churches and faith groups can have on the modern slavery agenda. Previously she worked in communications for Tearfund, an international development charity.
