Behaviour Design – The Neglected Aspect of Good User Experience

Research has shown that the quality of human-human interaction is often rated as the single biggest factor in determining the quality of user experience.

However, this is something that is often neglected in UX design, with the emphasis being on the design of the user interface. Designing the behaviour of an organisation’s staff and how they interact with customers is often seen by UX designers, and other UX professionals, as being outside the scope of what they do.

This presentation makes the case that designing behaviours is a central to creating a good user experience. It will be illustrated with a series of case studies illustrating good and bad practice. The audience will come away with a series of easy-to-use tools and frameworks for behaviour design that they can immediately apply to their work.
