Content design systems — practical lenses from GOV.UK

GOV.UK is the 8th most visited domain in the UK. But its fundamental information architecture is more than 13 years old. There’s a growing need to revisit how its content is structured, in particular its fundamental content model, so that it can evolve to meet user needs in a changing, multichannel, world. This session outlines the opportunity for government and provides practical lenses for those wrangling with content-first design.

About the speaker:

Rik is an information architect at Government Digital Service (GDS), the digital centre of government. He helps teams meet user needs by bringing clarity and structure to complex content. In particular, by modelling it for reuse, accessibility and durability — independently of any single technology, channel, or presentation layer.
